A word from our Chief Executive
Brian Dow, Chief Executive for Mental Health UK welcomes you to our new website!
Welcome to our new website which we hope will give you whatever you need, whether you are a company looking to raise awareness of mental health amongst your staff or customers or an individual seeking support for your mental health problem.
In the short time that we have been in existence, Mental Health UK has helped thousands of people through our Mental Health and Money Advice service as well as the information and direct support we provide. None of this would have been possible without the incredible generosity of many of the organisations and people that you will see featured on the site and we are deeply grateful to all of them.
One of the themes that you will see throughout everything that we do is that mental health is everyone’s business. After all, just as everyone possesses physical health, so too we all have mental health. The factors that maintain good mental health are different for everyone – I myself am not the mindfulness, contemplation type, preferring to jump on the bike or run round a park to maintain a sense of equilibrium, but for other people, finding the space to slow down and strip things away is the key to having good quality mental health. Whatever it is you need to make sure that happens for you and the people around you, we hope you will find here.
As an organisation that was created as a partnership between four mental health charities in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland we strongly believe that the whole is always greater than the sum of the parts so if there is any way in which we can help you please don’t hesitate to get in touch
