Mental Health UK partners with Royal Mail
Today marks the launch of a partnership between Mental Health UK and Royal Mail. Over the next three years Royal Mail will work with three charities as part of a strategic commitment to mental wellbeing.
Mental Health UK was a runner-up in the Royal Mail colleague vote, which decided their main charity partner. However, as part of Royal Mail’s ‘everyone’s a winner’ approach, Mental Health UK will be awarded a £50,000 donation towards our work.
The donation to Mental Health UK will go towards funding support groups for people with mental health problems and their carers. These groups provide a safe place for people to meet and support each other.
All three shortlisted charities from the colleague vote will also take part in Royal Mail’s mental health initiatives to help raise awareness, increase support for, and tackle the stigma of mental health problems amongst colleagues, customers and communities.
Mental Health UK will be involved in the programme of activities by helping to:
Provide short work placements to people affected by mental health problems and feel able to get back into work.
Develop a range of resources including films, booklets and social media collateral for sharing throughout the Royal Mail network, including with customers and suppliers.
Deliver a mentoring programme, placing Royal Mail’s senior leaders with its charity partners to provide pro bono consulting and support.
Your donation will make the difference
Just £10 could help pay for a call to our advice and information line, supporting someone living with mental illness who may be feeling in distress during this time.
