Beyond Bricks – Lego based play in Belfast Primary Schools
Location: Belfast, Northern Ireland
We’ll be working with primary schools across Belfast to deliver a Lego based play programme for 9-11 year olds that will support them in developing their social skills and resilience to recover from the pandemic and enhance their overall mental health and wellbeing.
There is evidence that children of this age have been particularly affected by school closures and are expressing concern around the return to school and how things will have changed. The programme will support them to explore those feelings and recover in a fun and active environment.
This project has been developed in line with Northern Ireland’s Mental Health strategy which places a particular emphasis on early intervention in childhood. The project will identify learning by involving children and teachers in the development of activities to strengthen the project and support its roll out across Northern Ireland.

Helping Communities

The pandemic has had a profound impact on mental health; millions of people will develop a mental health problem, or have seen their existing conditions worsen.
Our partnership with Lloyds Banking Group is helping us to deliver much needed mental health services to people and communities across the UK.
