Dorset Carers Support – wellbeing for support workers

Location: Dorchester, South West England

The frontline team delivering the Dorset Carers Support service offers advice, information and peer support for people who look after someone living with mental illness throughout Dorset. This team of support workers deliver everything from 1:1 to group support, activities and training, and are dealing with a significant increase in demand on the service.

The support workers say they would benefit greatly from a team building programme. They moved from being office-based to working from home, and haven’t met face to face for nearly two years. This has affected team spirit, as has the pressure from increased referrals. Funds raised will greatly improve the morale of this critical frontline team by allowing them to run a range of activities during the year to promote team building and wellbeing.
