Helping Hands – helping communities recover from Covid-19

Location: Halifax, Yorkshire and the Humber

A growing number of people in the community are facing challenges around isolation, financial constraints, worsening physical and mental wellbeing, all of which are contributing to a deterioration in people’s mental health. Local community leaders find themselves supporting more people with increasingly complex mental health problems. The Helping Hands project will work with voluntary and community groups across Halifax to provide mental health support to communities who have been impacted by COVID-19. There will be a particular focus on working with Afro Caribbean, South Asian, and White working class communities, where access and engagement with mental health services is low, and there’s more stigma around mental health issues.

Helping Communities
Prosper in 2022

The pandemic has had a profound impact on mental health; millions of people will develop a mental health problem, or have seen their existing conditions worsen.

Our partnership with Lloyds Banking Group is helping us to deliver much needed mental health services to people and communities across the UK.
