Llandudno – Troop Café Young People’s Project
Location: Llandudno, Wales
Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a “missing middle” group of young people needing help with their mental health but unable to access formal services because they didn’t meet the necessary criteria. These young people are often struggling with everyday life but without support, will experience worsening mental health and become more isolated from their peers and further away from achieving their potential. Using the Troop Café in Llandudno as a meeting space, our Welsh charity Adferiad Recovery will work with these young people several times a week outside of school hours. Through 1-2-1 and group sessions, the young people will be supported to understand their situation, what matters to them and how they can use the skills their already possess to overcome their personal challenges, build relationships with others and achieve goals that they set themselves.
