Rejuvenating a mental health resource centre
Location: Newport, Wales
Through the Duckpool Road Resource Centre, people with serious mental illness and their families can access services and support to help them take control of their lives and achieve recovery. The Centre provides timetabled activities like groups and courses, and offers practical and emotional support for service users and their peers.
Fundraising will go towards keeping the centre running, and also a renovation project, as the Duckpool Road Resource Centre needs a real freshen up. With the help of a professional painter, carpenter and cleaner, the Centre will receive a lift and modernisation. This is vital to create a comfortable, warm and welcoming environment for the service users, staff and volunteers who use the Resource Centre.
