Angkor Wat Trek & Community Project

Join #TeamMHUK for this once-in-a-lifetime trek from 25th September - 5th October across incredible Cambodian scenery, ending at the world-famous Angkor Archaeological Park. This is followed by time helping a local community support project, getting involved with hands-on tasks.

Overview of the event

This amazing trip starts with a 5-day trek exploring the beauty of rural Cambodia. You will trek through rice paddies, jungles and small villages and past ancient monasteries and temples. A highlight of the trek will be reaching the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Angkor, where you have the opportunity to visit one of its most famous temples, Angkor Wat.

After completing your trek you will support a local community project in Knapor village, getting involved with hands-on tasks such as painting, refurbishment and gardening depending on the most urgent need in the village at the time. You will have the opportunity to meet local people while supporting them and their community.

Top tip for reaching your fundraising target.

Organise a fundraising event at work or with friends as soon as you join #TeamMHUK. Fundraising for #TeamMHUK is a reason to do something fun. It could be a cheese and wine night, a film screening at your house or a BBQ where people make a donation to come along. Run a raffle, or a sweepstake during the event and you will be surprised at just how much you can raise.

Remember that whatever money you raise will really make a difference to our work and people’s lives.

You can still join #TeamMHUK

If you’ve already signed up to the Cambodia trek but paid your entrance fee directly to the event organisers, you can still run for us. We’d love you to join #TeamMHUK as an Own Place Runner. Just send an email using the link below to let us know.

The positive impact the group has had on me is huge. I don’t feel so isolated any more. If the support had not been available I would still be facing depression and loneliness, unable to look after myself and over-thinking things.
