Your Resilience is a UK-wide programme which supports young people’s mental health resilience. The programme equips young people with the tools and knowledge to maintain their mental health through life’s transitions, both now and in the future. Supporting young people

At Mental Health UK we understand the growing need to support young people, with most long-term mental health problems beginning during adolescence.

75% of mental illnesses start before a persons 18th birthday.

Research has shown that providing early preventative support can help to avoid deterioration in a young person’s mental health and equip them for the challenges of everyday life.

That’s why we created our young people’s programme, Your Resilience. A UK-wide programme for 14-18 year olds which focuses on supporting and building mental health resilience.

The content

We gathered insight from young people across the UK to build a programme around what young people have told us they want and need. The programme equips young people with the tools and knowledge to maintain their mental health through life’s transitions – such as changing friendship groups or starting employment.

Sessions are delivered through real-life scenario-based discussions on relatable topics such as social pressures and decisions about the future. Your Resilience will leave students with a better understanding and awareness of mental health in themselves and others. The programme will provide them with a suite of tools they can use, in ways which are right for them, both now and in the future when faced with challenges.

A crucial part of delivering the programme is how we work with facilitators within your organisation. Over 8 sessions, we will support your facilitators, train them in the content of the programme, and co-deliver the programme to young people. Facilitators will feel more confident in having conversations about mental health and resilience with young people.

With designated facilitators continuing the future delivery of the programme, Your Resilience will positively impact the lives of more young people and leave behind a legacy within your organisation for years to come.
