Mental Health UK Open Courses Terms & Conditions

Thank you for your interest in booking a training course with Mental Health UK. This document tells you the terms and conditions on which Mental Health UK provide open training courses.

Mental Health UK is a charitable incorporated organisation (CIO) number 1170815 registered at 89 Albert Embankment, London, SE1 7TP. You can contact us by emailing [email protected] or by calling 020 7840 3118.

1. How to Book an Open Course

Our open courses are listed on our website. When you know which course and on which date you would like to attend, please contact our team on 020 7840 3118 or [email protected] to ascertain spaces available and request a booking form. Once the form is completed, please email this to [email protected] and you will receive an email confirming your provisional booking has been received. Bookings will not be confirmed until payment has been made.

If you have chosen to make payment over the phone, one of our team will call you back to make payment.

If you have chosen to make payment via bank transfer, after receiving your provisional booking confirmation please make payment to the bank details listed in section 6 and email the date and payment reference to [email protected].

Once payment has been received, you will receive a confirmation booking email which details your booking information, course details and how to find us.

2. Description & Pricing of Courses

A description of each course is provided on our website alongside the price. The price is provided exclusive of VAT. VAT at the rate of 20% will be added to the booking.

3. Provisional Bookings

Where a booking made by email is not accompanied by full payment, the booking will be deemed to be provisional (“Provisional Booking”). Provisional Bookings will only be held for five working days from receipt of your booking form, after this any Provisional Bookings will be cancelled. Payment must be made within five working days of receipt of your booking form and not later than 48 hours before the course date in order to confirm your booking.

4. Third Party Bookings

We accept bookings from third party companies acting on a delegate’s or organisation’s behalf, however the booking information supplied must relate directly to the delegate(s) in question and include the following:

  • Delegate name
  • Job title
  • Company name and address (site address)
  • Direct phone number
  • Direct email address – this can be a work or personal email address

Bookings cannot be processed without this information being provided in full. This is to enable us to contact the delegate(s) directly when necessary (such as to provide joining instructions) and also to provide appropriate health & safety and security measures at course venues.

5. Cancellation of Courses by Mental Health UK

Mental Health UK reserves the right to amend or cancel any Course, Course times, dates or published prices. Changes to Course prices, times and dates will be advised before the Course start date and any Course already paid in full will not be subject to the increased price. As a Course may be cancelled at any time up to two weeks prior to its start, we recommend that delegates do not make travel or accommodation arrangements before this time.

Any travel, accommodation or subsistence costs incurred (including incidental costs such as car parking) are entirely the responsibility of the delegate or the delegate’s organisation.

Mental Health UK does not accept any liability for reimbursement of any costs incurred whatsoever in relation to its training Courses or events. Where a Course has been cancelled, delegates will be offered an alternative date for the same Course or a refund.

6. How to Pay

Payment can be made either by phone or bank transfer.

If making payment by phone, you can do so by calling our team on 020 7840 3118. If paying by bank transfer, please transfer payment of £234 per delegate (£195 + VAT) to the details below only once your place is provisionally confirmed by one of our team.

7. VAT & Card Charges

Prices quoted are exclusive of VAT which will be shown separately on the receipt provided once payment has been made. No charge will be made for payment by credit or debit card.

8. Joining Instructions

Joining instructions including venue details and start times are sent out by email directly to confirmed delegates once payment is confirmed. Once this has been done the services is deemed to have started under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

9. Cancellation of Booking by you

Where a firm booking has been accepted by Mental Health UK and is subsequently cancelled, the customer will be liable for the following charges. All cancellations must be received in writing.

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you have a cancellation cooling off period where you can cancel your Course within a period of 14 days beginning on the day after the day on which the contract is concluded with you as notified by email confirmation from Mental Health UK in accordance with these Terms. In this case, you will receive a full refund of the price paid for the Course(s) in accordance with our refunds policy (clause 13 below). After this initial cooling off period the above charges apply.

When booking 15 working days or less prior to Course start date, you agree that the service provided by Mental Health UK is deemed to have commenced and you agree to waive your right to cancel your booking and receive a full refund within 14 days under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. In such instances, the cancellation policy in the above table will apply.

10. Intellectual Property

All materials (“Mental Health UK Materials”) provided for Mental Health UK Courses including slides, resource packs, other text products and design are owned by Mental Health UK or Mental Health UK’s third party Course providers. No content in whole or in part of the Mental Health UK Materials may be copied, reproduced, uploaded, posted, displayed, linked to or used in any way without the prior written permission of Mental Health UK. Any such use is strictly prohibited and will constitute an infringement of the copyright and other intellectual property rights of Mental Health UK.

11. Transfers

In the event you wish to transfer your booking to another course or date, we will endeavour to accommodate this at no extra charge as long as there is space available. Please contact us in writing by emailing [email protected] to request a transfer.

12. Delegate Substitution

Delegate substitution may happen up to 24hours before the course. The new delegate will need to complete a booking form so we have their full name, contact details and all relevant health and safety information. If a substitution is made with less than 5 working days notice, we will endeavour to accommodate any dietary needs but we can not promise to do so.

13. Refunds

If you wish to exercise your right to cancel your booking, Mental Health UK will refund the fees paid according to the above cancellation policy (clause 9). If payment for the order was originally made by credit or debit card, any refund will be made back to the same card. If payment for the order was made by direct bank transfer, a refund will be made by direct bank transfer to a bank account that you elect.

14. Written Communication

Applicable laws require that some of the information or communications we send to you should be in writing. When using the Website, you accept that communication with us will be mainly electronic. We will contact you by e-mail or provide you with information by posting notices on our website. For contractual purposes, you agree to this electronic means of communication and you acknowledge that all contracts, notices, information and other communications that we provide to you electronically comply with any legal requirement that such communications be in writing. This condition does not affect your statutory rights.

15. Data Protection

Mental Health UK is registered under the provisions of the UK Data Protection Act 2018 and subject to the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). 16. Specific Needs

Mental Health UK aims to ensure that its events are accessible to all. If you have any specific needs, such as dietary or access requirements, please advise us at the earliest possible time, ideally on our booking form, and we will contact you to discuss your requirements. It is the responsibility of delegates to inform Mental Health UK about any specific needs or requirements they may have.
