London to Brighton cycle 2024

Conquer this 55 mile challenge from the buzzing city to the charming seafront

Overview of event

Leave the buzz of the city behind and join thousands of your fellow cyclists as you face the challenge of a 55-mile journey on two wheels from the heart of London to the buzzing Brighton seafront!

Over 4,000 riders will make their way through the idyllic English countryside putting their pedals to the test on Ditchling Beacon before gliding down to Brighton to cross the finish line and celebrate their success. On your way, stop at the picturesque village of Turners Hill for lunch, stay hydrated at water stops along the route of this challenging cycle ride and take advantage of our stationary and roaming mechanical support to keep you on course to the finish line.

No need for maps, our route is fully sign-posted so that you can keep your eyes on the road and enjoy the beautiful surrounding countryside! It is the perfect challenge for solo riders looking to get in some extra miles, beginner cyclists taking on their first big challenge or corporate groups looking for a team cycle!

Bike and coach transport will be available back from Brighton to south London at an extra cost of £35 which can be booked upon registering or prior to the event.

Your bicycle will be securely transported back to the start point in south London where it will be returned to you upon arrival.

Local train services in Brighton will only permit a limited amount of bikes so we strongly advise you arrange to be picked up from Brighton or book our bike and coach transport (subject to availability). Once you are signed up you’ll be sent a link to book a place. Places are limited for this service and do sell out so worth booking in good time.

Once registered, we will support you with fundraising, and any questions or queries relating to the event can be sent to [email protected]

The positive impact the group has had on me is huge. I don’t feel so isolated any more. If the support had not been available I would still be facing depression and loneliness, unable to look after myself and over-thinking things.

Helen Taylor

"Mental Health UK was a friendly partner to have. I received lots of motivational encouragement via email which maybe doesn’t sound like much but knowing people are rooting for you really helps"
