The Big Mental Health Get Together

Fundraise and join us in our mission to give everyone in the UK the tools they need to live their best possible life by hosting a Big Mental Health Get Together!

It’s a coffee and cake morning, or brunch with your friends. It’s a prosecco and pie with colleagues, or a full blown party to celebrate being with loved ones!

Jemima, MHUK Fundraising Manager

By organising a get together, you will give the people close to you a space to talk about mental health if they want to.

By raising money, you will empower people to better understand and maintain their mental health.

Register now to download your digital pack, and get ready to tackle loneliness and bring people together.

How do I raise money?

The possibilities are endless. You could set up a stall in your front garden and offer take away home bakes, host your friends in the garden for a BBQ, or even in the office kitchen for an indoor picnic.

Once you’ve signed up we’ll send you a link for your digital fundraising kit which will have printable assets to help you with promotion and fundraising, but here are just a couple of ideas to get you going…

At your Big Get together you could bake a delicious cake and ask for donations in return for a slice. Or what about hosting a quiz and asking people to donate to take part. Source a prize for the winner from a business (for example a voucher from Pizza Express, or a haircut from a local hairdresser).

Can I set up a Facebook event?

To create a private or public event:

  1. Click Events in the left menu of your News Feed
  2. Click Create Event in the top right

If you’re creating a public event, you can set the event’s host as yourself or a page you manage. You’re not able to change the privacy settings once you’ve created the event.

  1. Fill in the event name, details, location and time

If you’re creating a public event, you can:

The positive impact the group has had on me is huge. I don’t feel so isolated any more. If the support had not been available I would still be facing depression and loneliness, unable to look after myself and over-thinking things.

"I enjoyed seeing my fundraising increase on a weekly basis, the events that I organised pushed me out of my comfort zone, I talked to people about Mental Health in a way that I would never have done otherwise."

Louise Greenwood,

"I was totally elated when I crossed the line and so glad I’d given it a go!"

Helen Taylor

"Mental Health UK was a friendly partner to have. I received lots of motivational encouragement via email which maybe doesn’t sound like much but knowing people are rooting for you really helps"
