Step by Step

Organise your own fundraising event for Mental Health UK. Step by Step is a perfect opportunity to bring people together to walk and talk about mental health.

Get walking and talking for mental health.

Want to fundraise for Mental Health UK but not sure where to start? Step by Step is a fundraising event that you will be able to organise yourself. It will be a fantastic opportunity to bring people together to go for a walk and talk about mental health, all while raising valuable funds for our work. You can choose to walk anything from 5k to a more challenging 20k. Your colleagues, friends, family and even your dog can join in!

Why Step by Step?

Talking about our own experiences of mental health is incredibly important, but it can be difficult to get started. It’s much easier to start a conversation about mental health when walking next to someone rather than sat face to face. Being outdoors and light exercise are also great for our wellbeing.

I decided to participate as the rate in young people taking their own lives has risen in England and Wales by over 60% in the last 8 years. I had a young family friend who passed away so wanted to make sure I could do something to support the mental health cause and raise awareness. It is so important that charities can continue their life saving and crucial work.

Onyeka Michelle raised £160 at one of our walking events.
