Young people’s resources
Alongside our Young People’s programmes, we’ve developed a series of animated videos exploring key topics young people have highlighted as fundamental to their mental health resilience.
Each video features tools and techniques further explored in our Young People’s workshops and workbooks. These animations are suitable for young people aged between 14-18, and could be shown as part of a lesson on health and wellbeing or to encourage broader discussions around mental health and resilience.

What is resilience?
Video 1
We hear the word ‘resilience’ all the time, but what does it really mean? We can learn by looking at what resilience is and isn’t, as well as why it’s important for our mental health.
Your attitude & resilience
Video 2
Getting through the ‘not so fun’ times can feel hard when we don’t feel in control. Here we look at how making a conscious effort to improve our attitude can help us regain control and take positive action.
Stress
Video 3
Too much stress can be unhelpful. It can shut down our ability to think clearly. We look at what happens to our brain when we feel stressed and how we can manage it by encouraging new ways of thinking.
Curiosity
Video 4
Often underestimated, curiosity is one of the great secrets of happiness. We explore how having a curious mindset and attitude can help us to be more open to new ideas and ways of doing things.
Enemies of curiosity
Video 5
There are things that can stop us from being curious. Here we explore ways to notice these ‘enemies’ and the role we can play in changing our thinking, allowing us to make better happier decisions.
Inner critic & inner coach
Video 6
Have you ever noticed how you talk to yourself? We look at helpful ways to ‘turn down’ your inner critic and ‘turn up’ your inner coach.
Dealing with social pressures
Video 7
Ever find yourself doing things because other people want you to do them, rather than because you want to? Here we look at techniques that you can learn to resist this pressure and cope when it builds.
Friendships & dealing with conflict
Video 8
Our relationships with other people can affect our self-esteem, both in a positive and a negative way. Friendships don’t always go smoothly. Here we look at ways to support you during these times.
Juggling time
Video 9
Juggling everything you have to do in a day can be difficult. Is multi-tasking the best way to deal with this? We look at ways of managing your tasks so you can feel like you have achieved more and feel calmer.
