Lloyds Banking Group colleagues donate their time to help Rethink Mental Illness
During Mental Health Awareness Week (8-14 May) Lloyds Banking Group colleagues volunteered at Rethink Mental Illlness service centres across the Midlands as part of their charity partnership with Mental Health UK.
Colleagues from across Lloyds Banking Group Northants and Warwickshire volunteered at Thistley Lodge, Leamington Spa and Rethink Service Centre in Corby, helping with gardening and painting the Centres. They wanted to help improve Service Centre facilities for people who rely on them and have conversations with workers at the centres to discuss the importance of mental health and wellbeing.
Dharampal Braden-Brown, Service Manager at our Thistley Lodge service in Leamington Spa said:
It was great to have the volunteers here during Mental Health Awareness Week helping to update and tidy up one of our gardens. Our service at Thistley Lodge is a CQC registered nursing home service and provides 24 hour support to people with very complex mental health support needs. The volunteers have made a real impact by improving the outside space available for residents and their families many of whom find this a therapeutic place to spend time.
Hayley Aguilar Hernandez Assistant Manager for Lloyds Banking Group Coventry and Christian Tyler Local Director Northants and Warwickshire said:
Volunteering at Thistley Lodge in Leamington Spa and Rethink Service Centre in Corby during Mental Health Awareness Week was an eye-opening and rewarding experience. It was fantastic to have the opportunity to show support for our charity partner Mental Health UK and use our skills to make a difference in local communities.
