Mobico Group and Mental Health UK unite for the 'Be Well' initiative
Mobico Group, a leading international transport operator, launched the ‘Be Well’ campaign in February, alongside Mental Health UK as campaign partner. This exciting new initiative will prioritise provision of a supportive and open workplace, with wellbeing at its core, whilst helping people feel better, stronger, and more positive.
Emma O’Sullivan, Group Director of Organisational Effectiveness shared with us their campaign goals and how it’s designed to make a positive impact mentally, physically, and socially.

Can you tell us more about the BeWell initiative?
We’re really excited to introduce our ‘Be Well’ initiative – a campaign that’s all about putting wellbeing at the heart of everything we do. From mental health to physical fitness and social connection – we believe in creating a workplace that’s not only supportive but also open, where everyone feels empowered to thrive. Our goal with ‘Be Well’ is to energise and inspire our people, helping them feel stronger, more positive, and ready to take on whatever comes their way.
The campaign is built on three key pillars: mental, physical, and social wellbeing. These pillars are central to ensuring that we’re not just talking about wellbeing but actively working to make it a part of our day-to-day lives. We want to make it easy for everyone to access resources, training, and ideas that help them grow and connect with one another.
Behind the scenes, ‘Be Well’ is guided by our Wellbeing Standard, Health, Safety and Wellbeing policy, and our new Global Safety Standard for Wellbeing – all of which ensure that we’re delivering on our promises and building on the fantastic work that’s already happening. We’re excited to continue building a culture where wellbeing is truly at the core of everything we do.
I have to say that this truly been a team effort, working together with the HR, safety and communications teams across the group to get this off the ground.

– Emma O'Sullivan, Group Director of Organisational Effectiveness"This is the chance to really make a difference in people’s everyday lives. It’s not just about offering resources or check-ins; it’s about creating a space where our employees feel supported, energised, and connected – mentally, physically, and socially. The idea that we’re all in this together and that everyone has access to the tools, training, and encouragement they need to feel their best is what gets me most excited.
"This isn't a one-off initiative – it’s a commitment to embedding wellbeing into our culture in a way that lasts. Whether it’s through group activities, mental health resources, or just creating a more open and supportive environment, we’re building something that will grow and evolve with our team. Knowing that we’re giving people the opportunity to improve their health, connect with colleagues, and share ideas across the business just feels like the right thing to do, and I can’t wait to see where it takes us!"
What do you hope the partnership will bring to Mobico Group?
We’re absolutely thrilled to partner with Mental Health UK, and we truly believe this collaboration is going to bring a whole new level of support and insight to Mobico Group. By working together, we’ll have access to their expertise, knowledge, and practical resources, which will be invaluable as we continue to grow and shape our wellbeing approach.
What excites me most is that Mental Health UK can help guide us in creating meaningful, effective initiatives that will make a real difference for our people. From fresh ideas to practical advice, this partnership is all about giving us the right tools and support to ensure we’re prioritising wellbeing in the best way possible.
We will also be providing opportunities for fundraising on behalf of Mental Health UK and are designing a number of events that colleagues can get involved in and help raise funds. It’s an amazing charity that does lots of good work.
What message about wellbeing would you hope to share with your employees through this partnership?
The message we want to share with our employees through this partnership is simple: wellbeing, and in particular mental health, matters and it affects all of us. Whether it’s something we experience ourselves or something we support a loved one through, the reality is that one in four people will face a mental health challenge at some point. That’s a significant number, and it’s something we all need to acknowledge and talk about.
Through our partnership with Mental Health UK, we’re committed to providing colleagues with the resources, knowledge, and support they need to live their best possible lives. Our ‘Be Well’ approach is all about creating a workplace where mental health is openly discussed, where people feel safe to express how they’re feeling, and where help is always available when it’s needed. With the right support, we truly believe that everyone can be okay – and we’re here to make sure that happens.

– Brian Dow, Chief Executive, Mental Health UK“We are delighted to be launching our new partnership with Mobico Group and supporting the ‘Be Well’ initiative. We are committed to going above and beyond for the Mobico Group employees and Mental Health UK beneficiaries as we continue striving to ensure that everyone has the tools they need to live their best possible lives across the UK.”
