The reciprocal nature of our partnership with RBH Hospitality Management

At Mental Health UK, our partnerships are true partnerships. They work two ways so that both we and our partners benefit from the relationship, and we think strategically about the different ways in which we can work together. Our partnership with RBH Hospitality Management is a fantastic demonstration of this.

We launched our partnership on Time to Talk Day in February, where colleagues took to improving their understanding of mental health and developing their skills in how to have supportive conversations using Mental Health UK’s resources. The launch also saw RBH pledge to practise what they had learnt by having supportive conversations with their peers and wider networks, tackling stigma and raising awareness.

RBH has an amazing fundraising target of £75,000 over our two-year partnership which they hope to achieve by engaging colleagues in a fun calendar of activities across the year and across the country.

The hotel company is supporting us in other ways too. During Mental Health Awareness Week earlier this month, we kickstarted our volunteering campaign, enabling RBH colleagues to give their time to look after the members of our online community, Clic, making sure it’s a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.

Not only that, this month, we are pitching up at the RBH managed Hampton by Hilton Manchester Northern Quarter, where the team have kindly agreed to let us use their space for a photoshoot (run with our founding partner, Rethink Mental Illness) so that we can refresh the photography we use on our website, social media and marketing materials. We’re really keen to show real people in real life settings so we’re grateful to RBH and the hotel team for donating such a wonderful location. The project will enable us to better share our story and further our charity mission as a whole.

Through open communication, innovative thinking, and willingness to support one another we can create true partnerships that can achieve great things, together. As Katie Legg, Director of Strategy and Partnerships at Mental Health UK said:

“At Mental Health UK, we won’t stop until everyone has the tools they need to live their best possible life, and we cannot do it alone. Thank you to everyone at RBH Management for your support!”
